ScrapFit's WO #24 "Freestyle Relay"

These are two pages I did this weekend for the WO #24 over at ScrapFit. The challenge was to lift a layout by one of the designers but change something. I chose Laura Jean's Things are better in 2's. She actually did 2 6x12 layouts so when they are put together it looks like one.

These are her layouts:

These are mine:

It's been a while...

Wow, I have been bad about getting on here to post. Let's catch up a little. We had a wonderful time at the Sugarland concert, they were even better than they were at stateline. Barry did a great job of picking out our tickets and he packed a nice picnic dinner for us to eat in the parking lot once we got up there. We stayed at a Days Inn in Hollywood so we didn't have to drive far after the concert. Barry read that we couldn't take cameras in so all I had was my little pocket camera so I didn't get too good of pictures. This is a picture of the stage from our seats.

We took our time about getting up the next morning and then took a scenic drive through Hollywood and went to Patrick's Roadhouse on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica to have brunch. Barry had seen it on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and wanted to go check it out. It was really fun to check it out and the food was great.

On Sunday the 11th Donna (my sister), Lauren and Emily (my nieces) all came to visit from Colorado. They were here for a week so I was off work spending time with them all week. We spent that Monday at the hospital while my mom had a procedure done and then spent the rest of the week at her house playing games and visiting.

Then I had to go back to work for four days. I was off last Friday and took mom to a couple of her doctor appointments and out to lunch with Andy. After we had lunch I took her home and then headed to the Holiday Inn in Fullerton for the Sisterhood of Scrapping Retreat. I had a great time and met a lot of new people and got a little bit of scrapping done. I didn't get as much as I would have liked to, but I did complete 10 pages and a couple of cards. I will try to get pictures this week of some of the layouts and share them with you. The cards are for my Sassy Lil Sketches DT work, so you have to wait for the reveal days to see those, but hopefully I will have time to get a few more cards made this week and I will share those.

So, I guess that catches you up on what I have been up to and I will try not to wait so long to catch up.

BTW, here is the card that I made at the Copic's class that I took the first part of the month.

Happy Birthday Barry!!

Today is my darling husband's birthday and to celebrate we are taking off this afternoon and heading up to LA to the Greek Theatre to see Sugarland. We had so much fun seeing them a few months ago that we are really looking forward to seeing them again.

This is also the beginning of my week off of work as my sister and nieces are coming to town on Sunday so we will be doing a lot of visiting, so I'm not sure but we are hoping to get one day to make cards, hopefully that will happen.

Busy Week...

It has been a crazy busy week, I think because it is such a short week at work for met. After having a nice long weekend I worked yesterday then took a Copic's card coloring class last night. Today was a busy day a work with a deadline to be met and then out to dinner with the boys. I did make a card on Monday that was fun and I am trying to use my copics as I am learning. I used a sketch that Elizabeth posted over at Treasured Scrapbooking. Here is the card, doesn't it look yummy and make you want to eat some ice cream!

Trishutter Card Challenge

Ruby aka Inspired Scrapper was our Member of the Month over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast for June and she hosted a challenge. She challenged us to make a trishutter card and this is the card that I made for it. This was a fun card and I will probably make another one in the future.

Birthday Card Parade

I had a couple of requests to make 4 different birthday cards plus one that I needed to send out. This first one was a card that my mom wanted to send to my cousin for his birthday. I made it for Casey Lu's masculine card challenge over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast and I used this month's card sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches. Head on over to Sassy Lil' Sketches and check out this month's sketches. You have until July 5th to enter for one of the prizes from this month's sponsors.

This is a card I made for Katee's challenge over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast, which was to make a card using up scraps. These were the scraps from the card that I made above.

This is the card that I made for my niece Lauren who had a birthday last Wednesday.

Tina had asked me to make a couple of cards for her friend's twin daughters, one needed to be pink and the other purple. This is what I came up with.
