TGIF

Boy am I glad that it is Friday! This is the first full week I have worked since before the holidays and it felt like it was two weeks long. I am hoping to be able to do something up in my scrap room this weekend. I think I will head up there now to see if I can clean off a work space in case I get the urge.

Have a great weekend.

Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday and to celebrate we went out to dinner to Kings Fish House. We had a great time together.

Kristi and Andy - Andy thought it would be fun to try to stick his chop sticks in his sister's ear...

My big gift this year is my trip in February to Sedona for a scrapbooking retreat. I am really looking forward to spending a weekend with a group of my scrapbooking friends from here, Arizona, and New Mexico. I also got some flowers from the boys and some scrappy goodies from Kristi and Daisy.

Homemade Lollipop Flower

Here is a card that I made tonight for April's challenge over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast. The lollipop flower was fun to make. At first I wasn't sure that I liked it, but it is growing on me and I will probably be making more.

Some More Scrappiness

Among other things we have spent time cardmaking this weekend while Donna is here. Linda took her cards home, so I can't share her craftiness with you, but here are a few of mine and Donna's.

Mine:

Donna's:

I will try to share a few more with you sometime this week, but for now I need to get over to Mom's to spend some more time with Donna before I have to take her to the airport.

Have a great day!

Scrappy Time

Today my sister, Donna, my cousin, Linda, and I went out to a couple of scrapbooking stores and bought a few items then went back to my mom's house to hang out and make a few cards. I finished up my cards for the card swap over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast then I made this birthday card for my niece Emily. She and I have the same birthday, so I don't think I will ever forget her birthday. We are suppose to get together again tomorrow and hopefully get a few more cards made. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

It's Almost Friday!!!

I am soooo happy about that, let me tell you. I feel like I have been through a war this week. The good news is that mom is getting out of the hospital tomorrow and my sister. Donna, is coming from Colorado to visit for the weekend. I am going to be working from home tomorrow and then I have Monday and Tuesday off. I am doing the happy dance right about now.

I am hoping to get some scrappy time this weekend when Donna is here. I hope to have a few items to post on here, so stay tuned...

Have a great weekend everyone, I know I will!

Hectic Week

It has been a rather hectic week so far. We had to take my mom to the emergency room on Sunday night (after the Laker game of course) to make sure that she was not having a heart attack. She is still in the hospital while they are running tests to make sure she isn't having heart attacks and to try to keep her from doing so. They are also trying to regulate her blood sugars which seems to be a real challenge at this point and time. I have been trying to work and spend as much time at the hospital as I can to keep an eye on her and check in with the doctors. Kristi has been spending almost as much time there as I have. She has been a real god-send to me this week trying to get answers and checking in on her. We hope that she will be able to be home this weekend as my sister is coming from Colorado for a visit. If not, I guess we will be spending time visiting with her at the hospital.

Have a great hump-day and I will be checking in again soon.

Kristi was over today and brought Daisy with her. She is so cute and got a new pink sweater today. She thought she was hot stuff. Too cute!

Southwest Turkey Casserole

April over at ScrappinCoast2Coast posted a recipe for Southwest Turkey Casserole. It sounded pretty good so I thought I would try it only using chicken instead of turkey. It turned out great and Barry and Kristi both really enjoyed it. It was definately a keeper recipe. Come on by ScrappinCoast2Coast and check out the Recipes O'Plenty Thread for this and several other good recipes.

Hump Day Almost Over

Well, I think that this seems like one of the longest weeks in a long time. It has been crazy busy at work and it will be the first 5 day work week in a while. Bowling was fun last night, but seemed like it would never end towards the end. We bowled a fun team and had a good time. Less than two months and we will be headed to Vegas for our sweepstakes. It is also Nascar weekend and we have plans to attend qualifications, the Nationwide race and the cup race, so it will be a really busy weekend.

More bowling tonight in our Wednesday night league. We haven't bowled the past two Wednesdays, so it will be good to get back to it. Have a good week and will check back in soon.

You've Got to Have Friends Challenge at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast

Javagirl, aka Liz, is hosting a challenge over at Scrappin Coast 2 Coast and these are the layouts that I have submitted.

These pictures were taken last April when Kristi, Liz and I went over to the CKC Convention in Mesa, Arizona. We met up with Teresa and Amanda the first day and did some shopping, had some lunch, went to the convention center to check it out, did some more shopping, had some dinner and went back to Liz's house and had lots of laughs. The next morning we met up with Teresa for breakfast and then off to the convention for classes with Mandy and Melissa, then met up with April while shopping at the show and had a great time and ended the day at Serrano's for dinner with everyone. It's always a lot of fun when we go over there. Our next trip is planned for this February when Liz, Karen and I will be heading over to go to a scrapbook retreat with 9 others in Sedona, Arizona. We are all looking forward to lots of laughs, scrapbooking, shopping, and just all-in-all a good time.
